Practical Pistol

First Sunday of every month

Our first Sunday match is the practical pistol course. This is a little bit IDPA, a little bit USPSA, a little bit IPSC, and a lot of fun. The courses vary each month as to layout, COF, and round count, but every month we try to keep the round count under 50, so that it can be shot with a single box of ammo. And while every course is not always stationary, we try to keep movement and running to a minimum so that people of all ability levels can compete. In addition, accommodations can usually be made if there is a particular stage that poses a physical barrier to the shooter. We want everyone to be safe, so following safety rules IS A MUST, but course rules are flexible, so you have no excuse to not come out and try it.

Standard equipment needed for a match is traditionally your pistol, a holster for said pistol, a few spare magazines for semi autos, and speed loaders or moon clips would be VERY beneficial to revolver shooters, a 50 round box of appropriate ammo (more will never hurt, just in case), a magazine holster is highly recommended, and of course, all of your needed safety items (eyes, ears, ect..).  Should there be a special course that would need any other equipment, an announcement will be made on the facebook page so you can come prepared.  Make sure to check in often, as any last minute scheduling changes will be posted there as well.

The cost of a round is $5, and there are categories for carry guns, race guns, revolvers, and back-up guns. Shoots will be held on the first Sunday of the month from April through October. Signups start at 09:00 at the clubhouse, shooting (hopefully) begins around 09:30 on the pistol range. Matches will run until all competitors have completed all stages. You DO NOT need to be a club member to participate in these shoots, all are welcome. For any additional information, call Sean Zanella @ 570-274-2367 or message us through the facebook page.
